This Puyang statue (in English: Sumatran Tiger) has the life size of a real one. For people in South Sumatera, Puyang means ancestor, grandfather or ancestor. But, in Malay society, Puyang (Poyang) also means to mention a shaman, great-grandfather, magic, or handler. In the mythology of the people of South Sumatra, Puyang is not only intended for humans, but also Sumatran tigers or other animals that are believed to have magical powers or control an area of forest and peat swamps.
