Hindu literature that is understood by the Balinese manners is that there are four goals in human life known as the Catur Purusa Artha namely Dharma (noble truth), Artha (material), Kama (desire) and Moksa (release to Brahman). The purpose of life, one of them can be pursued through marriage. Or, marriage is one form of embodiment of attaining life, according to the meaning of Lontar Agastya Parwa. In this lontar text mentioned Yatha sakti kayika dharma or according to his own ability to carry out dharma.
